Rosebank Engineering

Mr Gordon Kennett, Managing Director of Rosebank Engineering, is keenly supportive of Project 2014 and has kindly provided all the spruce timber for the major structures of the aeroplane – spars, wing ribs, struts and booms. This also includes the mountain ash for the undercarriage struts and skids. Gordon’s generosity also extended to the purchase of the Rotec 7 cylinder 110hp engine. Additionally the purchase also includes the propeller, engine instruments and oil tank.


Mobile Network

Mr Andrew Fenton, Managing Director was impressed with the extent of Project 2014 and agreed to provide all the necessary 4130N chrome (molly) tubing (to be used for strut socket fittings) and 2024-T3 aluminium alloy tubing (to be used for intermediate wing ribs). He also agreed to purchase the four wheels, assembled by Lightfoot Engineering in Melbourne. The hubs for four wheels were machined at the RAAF Museum.


Aerostructures

Mr Rod Locket, Managing Director, is a keen supporter of the RAAF and military aviation, and has purchased the many turnbuckles that are required to tension the numerous bracing wires that support the aeroplane’s structure.

Macdonald Technologies International

Mr Col Macdonald, Managing Director has been involved in aviation maintenance for a long time and is a enthusiastic supporter of Project 2014. His support has extended to the purchase of the polyester covering and the finishing materials necessary to apply the covering.

 

Qantas Defence Systems (QDS)

Mr Paul Mathieson, General Manager – Commercial & Marketing, has a strong relationship with military aircraft and maintenance gained through his previous RAAF experience. Paul was extremely keen for QDS to be involved in such a worthwhile project. The QDS donation will be used to purchase various materials and other items to enable the aeroplane to be built.


The Royal Australian Air Force Museum

Mr David Gardner, OAM, Director of the RAAF Museum, firmly supports Project 2014 and has kindly allowed the construction of the flying replica Boxkite to take place within the Museum’s facilities.


MMP Books

MMP Books offered to design, host and administer the Project 2014 website, as a donation to this unique project.

Form A Sign

Sponsor signs have been manufactured by a company called Form a Sign. The company was developed by Gareth Chandler, AM, (a retired air force engineer) and his two sons Ken and Mathew. Trading as Chandler Industries, Gareth was most pleased to be able to contribute to Project 2014.
